Coily
Hair Type 4: Coily hair
The most challenging type
Coily hair usually has small but tight curls and is often dull due to a thin protective layer. This hair is demanding and requires extensive care.
This rare hair type often arouses admiration, especially when it grows long and healthy with the right curl care.
It is often assumed that frizzy curls can only be worn short. But with the right moisturizing care, they can grow. Products such as leave-in conditioners and moisturizers are essential for this.
Hair type 4 is divided into:
-
4a: Small, s-shaped but delicate curls.
-
4b: Less defined, Z-shaped curls, prone to breakage.
-
4c: Barely defined curls, varying in hair structure.
The right care: moisture and anti-frizz
Frizzy hair needs moisture above all else. Due to the porous outer layer, it requires constant moisturizing care.
Anti-frizz products are important to prevent unwanted frizz. The Curly Girl method and co-washing (avoid shampoo and only cleanse with conditioner) are particularly gentle and suit this hair type well.
With the L.O.C. method (Liquid-Oil-Cream) you give your hair additional moisture by working with oil.
